Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is a combination of HTTP and SSL/TLS (Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security) cryptographic protocols. It features authentication of web pages and encryption between client and server for added security. HTTPS uses port 443 by default.
